Kara joined SD Group in 2019 and currently serves as the Business & Finance Manager for SD Group and its affiliated companies. Kara earned an Associate of Arts degree in Photography from the Academy of Art in Tampa, Florida, in 2006. She then went on to establish and run a highly successful photography business for 8 years, traveling the world to capture weddings and other special occasions.

With a background in accounting and an entrepreneurial spirit, Kara brings a unique skill set to her role. She oversees and manages the cash flow for all the companies, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and more. Kara has also played a vital role in establishing company policies and procedures and overseeing human resources. What she enjoys most about working at SD Group is the company’s family culture and its vision to impact and strengthen the community.

Kara lives in Palmer, Alaska, with her husband and three children. The family enjoys all that the Alaskan outdoors has to offer, including hiking, cross-country skiing, running, and snowmachining. Kara also loves cheering on her kids at their football, baseball, softball, and basketball games!
