Josiah is a proficient carpenter and equipment operator, actively working toward a leadership role with the goal of becoming a superintendent at SD Construction. Gaining hands-on experience in the field has provided him with a strong foundation in construction. He is both eager to take on greater responsibilities looks forward to the opportunity to lead teams, oversee projects, and contribute to the growth and success of individuals and the company.

Growing up, his father ran his own construction company, specializing in building decks and fences. As soon as he and his siblings were old enough, they joined their father in his work, where he mentored Josiah and taught him everything he knows. From a young age, Josiah developed a strong passion for working with his hands and building tangible, functional structures. He finds great satisfaction in seeing a project come to fruition from start to finish, and he takes pride in knowing that the work he does positively impacts the customer. Josiah is enthusiastic about learning new skills and techniques and is always striving to expand his knowledge and refine his skills.

He grew up in Georgia as one of 17 siblings, all born to the same parents. His father was both a pastor and a construction worker throughout his life. Through him, Josiah and his siblings were taught the value of hard work and the importance of completing every task to the best of their ability. His mother was an exceptional stay-at-home mom who instilled in him the principles of gratitude, humility, and continuous self-improvement. She emphasized never complaining and always striving to become better. Faith was the cornerstone of his family. His parents followed God’s plan in every aspect of their lives, which ultimately led them to move their family to Alaska in 2017.

Josiah is highly passionate about fitness and outdoor activities. He engages in a variety of sports, including golf, tennis, pickleball, and football, and enjoys spending time in nature through camping, hunting, and fishing. He is always looking to challenge himself, both physically and mentally, and he continuously seeks new experiences that push his limits. Bodybuilding is a significant part of his life. He values the process of transforming weakness into strength through hard work and determination. The discipline and perseverance that it requires aligns with his commitment to personal growth.

He strives to one day become a devoted husband and father, dedicated to providing for and protecting his future family. He values the responsibility of leadership within the home and the importance of building a strong foundation for those he loves. Above all, his faith is central to his life. He is committed to strengthening his relationship with God and following His path in all aspects of life.

Josiah has a great appreciation for SDC’s dedication to the growth and development of its employees. “Their commitment to fostering a strong sense of family is evident not only within the organization but also in the way they conduct business and support those they serve. It is rare to find a construction company that genuinely prioritizes the well-being of every employee, creating an environment where individuals feel valued and supported.”  He finds leadership within this organization to be exceptional, focusing on mentorship and professional development. Rather than discouraging individuals for what they have yet to learn, they invest in building skills and confidence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and success.
